One, two, three…push!

Dog pooping in the snowTensions are rising as we near the finalization of the 2016 Presidential Election. The Trump Train races on and soon the end of the tunnel will be evident. And when everyone is on the same page, people can relax and let the system slowly digest the bitter fruit of 105 years of lies and manipulation. This coming period will not be pretty and the digestion process may be disgusting, but like a good bowel movement, ultimately it will be satisfying.

You can follow the process of the book and history at www.savingtrump.com and www.samkeene.news.

Enjoy. Tell your friends. And let’s all move on. No matter what, America remains the “go-to” place on Planet Earth. New-Jump-1e1c-sm

Who Do You Trust?

bhitler-bush

Who do you trust to provide truthful news? The New York Times, The National Enquirer, your favorite YouTube site, CNN, FOX News, or “none of the above”? Getting a handle on reality has become more challenging now that more possible realities are surfacing. It was so much easier when people relied on the Mockingbird system and its predecessors. Of course, that ease of decision-making sucked us into WWI and WWII, Vietnam, the “War on Terror” and many other negative realities. In five years, we may look back on the present era fondly, at least from the point of view of seeing the “truth”. At the moment, various truths are competing for our attention. One approach is to remain interested and attentive, but detached and skeptical. Filter reality and build your own “truth.” Here is a guest post about “truth” from one of my characters, Emma Neumann from my novel Saving Trump.

“The well-known story of All the President’s Men written by Washington Post reporters Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward chronicled the exploits of these two reporters during the early 1970s Watergate scandal. The book was a classic David and Goliath tale of the bulldog reporters using inside information, in this case from a mysterious source called ‘Deep Throat,’ to investigate and break the big story which would ultimately take down President Richard Nixon.

Let’s fast forward from 1972: Nixon was re-elected President of the United States; Vice-President Agnew resigned (1973); Gerald Ford became Vice-President (1973); Nixon resigned as President after the Watergate scandal (1974); Ford became President (1974); Nelson Rockefeller became Vice-President (1974).  History books covering this era must be action-packed, exciting reads.

Then in 1975-76, the Church Committee investigated United States intelligence activities, and Operation Mockingbird was exposed. Begun in 1953, Mockingbird was a CIA program which used legitimate news sources to influence domestic public opinion. Brand-name reporters working for the New York Herald Tribune, Newsweek, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and others were allegedly subject to control by their CIA Mockingbird masters. Other reporters, not working within the propaganda system, were wire-tapped to determine content. Basically, it was a continuing propaganda campaign running within, and capable of manipulating, the revered ‘Fourth Estate,’ the news media.

More recently we have the story of the leader of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, buying The Washington Post newspaper in 2013 for $250 million. Earlier in the same year, Bezos’ company Amazon received a $600 million contract to provide cloud services to the CIA. The Washington Post has been a constant source of negative information about President Trump, much of which has been obtained from anonymous sources.

Logically, one might assume that the truth once exposed would negate any propaganda efforts by the CIA or anyone else. Of course, Edward Bernays, the father of modern-day public relations or propaganda, said in his 1927 report entitled The Minority Rules that “the most effective propaganda, indeed, is that which enlarges and presents the truth so that an indifferent public will understand it and accept it.” Later in the same article, he says that if propaganda “strays into untruth, the course of events will show it up, and its power will end.”

But, what is the truth?

Some definitions state that a verified fact conforming to reality, and not false (untrue) is the truth.

And what is a lie?

A lie is an idea or statement that is untrue but which is presented as if it was true.

It could be said that all reported news may or may not be true depending on verification of the facts and the honesty of the reporter. Like the quantum physics question: is it a particle or a wave?, determining whether it is the truth or a lie depends on your filter and interpretation.

Hitler had a method of establishing the truth. The Nazi propaganda leaders said that if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, it will become the truth. This is the problem with public relations and propaganda. It is a process which establishes the truth and then sells it to the public. In effect, it is ‘fake news.’ Because news reporting is not only a fact-reporting machine, it is a fact-filter or lens.  It diminishes or magnifies any event according to the bias of the source. Or in some cases, news is totally or partially fabricated.

Is the CIA still in the business of manipulating domestic and foreign public opinion? Are the Russians involved in manipulating domestic and foreign public opinion?  Is President Trump doing the same? Are the Democrats and Republicans doing the same? The easy answer is, yes. Is all the news presented on television, and in newspapers, magazines, movies, podcasts, videos, websites and word-of-mouth the “truth”? Or is it some form of propaganda? The answer is that it is all propaganda. From instantaneous electronic reporting to time-delayed historical reporting, it is all the same. Let the reader beware.

In the very near future, it will be reported that the Russians co-opted Facebook, Google and other sites that offered advertisements along with their information and news. Most likely their intent was to disrupt the elections. Maybe they were just testing the concept to determine the best way to influence our elections. The Russians will be exposed for buying ads which promoted specific candidates and issues in the 2016 Presidential Election. Possibly Donald Trump was one of those promoted. If so, does that mean he colluded with the Russians? Or does it reflect on the transmitter of the news, Facebook or Google? Are they in some capitalistic, business-like way colluding with the Russians? Or is this all about free-speech for everyone including foreign intelligence operations?

Mockingbird news survives. It will never be killed by the truth because the truth is an imaginary bullet.”

Saving Trump

Saving Trump

Saving Trump Available Now

My new book Saving Trump is now available at Amazon and others (this is Vol. 5 of the Time Travel Twins series). As I have cautioned before, the Twins books are written for adults and young adults, not for kids. Every book is based on fact as well as fiction. Sometimes the two worlds intersect and often blossom into a “might be” reality. How would we even know? The past 100 years of “history” has been all about spin and the molding of historical reality. It’s up to you to decide: “What’s (really) up?” From the cover:

“Some people say Donald Trump is the problem; others believe he is the solution. Ethan and Emma, time traveling twins from a dystopian future, believe they know the truth. The future of America and the world is guaranteed to be far worse if Trump is removed from office. The day after election day, November 9, 2016, the two veteran time travelers awaken to one more gigantic challenge. Now, at the age of one-hundred-six, the twins are still hoping to create a better future by saving the past. They resolve to save President Donald J. Trump.

In 1963, they attempted to save JFK and failed. In the 1930s, they succeeded in saving FDR, but their heroics may have only delayed the inevitable. The recent presidential election has given them one more chance to fix history. They are well aware that by the year 2030 the world will be a horrific place. They know President Donald Trump will quickly be eliminated leaving the United States to flounder and fall. But, what would happen if somehow, he was able to finish his term of office? The possibility gives them hope. They decide to take action.

They arrive at a game plan with their good friend Zak, and they pursue their dream of saving Trump.  Unfortunately, while they believe they are on the side of the angels, half of America’s population disagrees. Anchoring the “Never-Trumpers” is Emma’s great grand-daughter Samantha, a young and determined reporter for a Washington D.C. newspaper. It’s a generational battle, with both sides entrenched and both sides dead-certain of the righteousness of their positions.

Threats of impeachment and assassination surround the new president. The country is turned inside out. The citizens of America are divided into warring factions fighting in a political conflict which some call the “Second American Civil War.” Amidst this great turmoil, the ancient twins and Zak learn new skills and take to the Information Highway to promote their great hope, Donald Trump.

Can they stop the powerful, hold-over forces of the Deep State? Can they make peace with their young relations? Will they be able to save Trump? Or will he be defeated signaling the death of the American dream?”

You might also want to check out the work of my dear friends Emma and Sam. Their blog sites can be found at www.SavingTrump.com and www.SamKeene.news. Like many in America, these two, one young and one old, battled mightily over the past year.

Saving JFK: Stopping the Chicago Attempt

Someone knew.

From Zak Newman's June 28, 2028 log in the time travel novel Saving JFK

“Dr. Currant spent the first hour explaining the some of the basics of life in the early 1960s. He has purchased quite a few rare gold and silver coins as well as about ten pounds of common gold coins dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. Since he is a registered numismatist, he is allowed to make such a transaction without causing a fuss with MOM. These, he will exchange for dollars once we arrive. We’re familiar with the idea of dollars. They’re similar in concept to the exos that we use today, except they are paper, not electronic. But understanding the smaller coins is a challenge. The pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half-dollars are what Dr. Currant calls “pocket change.” For my money, carrying these coins around will only create holes in my pocket. I actually like our decimal system of today, although very few transactions involve transferring a part of an exo. A single exo doesn’t buy much and part of an exo buys even less. But A.C. assures us that these nickels and dimes will, in themselves, have some pretty hefty purchasing power in 1963. He’s also bringing some cut diamonds. These, of course, are synthetic. Today, diamonds are just another commodity, like wheat or oil, because of the low cost of creating them. According to Dr. Currant, experts today can’t tell the difference between the real and the synthetic. The synthetic stones are cheap now, but in 1963 diamonds were very valuable and only available in their natural state. They’re small, easy-to-carry, concentrated wealth and they’ll be no problem to sell to the right buyer, says Dr. Currant.”

The Time Travel Twins have time-traveled to the 1960s to save John Kennedy.

The King of the Hill

Much of the American Dream floats on the concept of becoming the King of a Hill. It’s an elusive, but worthy concept. Maybe it’s not limited to citizens of the USA. It may be a universal human desire to conquer something, to raise a flag and shout “I’m the best!”. No one can be faulted for blowing their own horn. We live in a competitive world, sometimes one which is belittling. We live in a Facebook world filled with people seeking the praise and approval of others. We live in a judgmental world with some disparaging the honest efforts of others which they deem unimportant. Understandably, some people don’t even try to climb the King’s hill. Others pushed into the dirt a few times by those with more strength or leverage, and they give up. Few make it to the top of the most sought after hills. But there are many hills. There’s a hill for every person. Choose your hill wisely. But make a choice. Be the King or Queen of something. Climb your hill. It’s part of life to climb to the top and experience the view. Forget the title. Everyone is a Princess or Price at birth. Climb the hill of your choice. Some are worthy of your effort and time. Others will disappoint. Some are for the blessed, and some are for the birds.

Coffee, Tea, or Me?

coffee-web

I think we would all agree that a dollar is a dollar. But what’s a dollar worth? The answer is: not much. If you want a cup of coffee at a restaurant, it will cost you at least two dollars. The same coffee in the 1960s would cost ten cents a cup.  The average American family income in 1960 was about $6,700 (with 30% of the families having two income earners). The average a family income in 2016 was about $62,500 (with 60% of the families having two income earners).

Therefore, the average family in 1960 could afford 67,000 cups of coffee per year; and the average family in 2016 could annually afford 31,500 cups of coffee. But the vast majority of 2016 families would need two people working to achieve this goal.

Some people might say, “sure, but they wouldn’t have a computer in every home”, or “right, but they wouldn’t have had cellphones”, or “they would only have one automobile.” This is true, but there are monetary, time and livability costs related to all this connectivity and mobility. At the end of the 1960 worker’s day, he or she could return home and relax. In the great majority of families, someone could remain home and work to maintain a “home”. This is not true of their 2016 counterparts. Now, their work has become embedded in their lives. The do not have time or energy to create even a sense of “home”. They suffer from stunted lives, chronic fatigue, a coffeehouse/restaurant diet, and the exhausting whirlwind existence of  mice on a tread mill.

This is the nature of a monetary system based on credit and maintained by the inflation of the dollar—the invisible tax. It all started in 1913: the Federal Reserve, the Income Tax, the tax-free Foundations. The ultimate end of such systems will have whole families responsible for incredibly gross and ever-lasting national debts.  Eventually, they will have to work the entire day just to be able to buy a single cup of coffee. Of course, this will never happen. The money changers will first reset the economic system using some new tactic, or they will create another mind-numbing war, or some combination of the two.

Let’s hope someone or something drives the money changers out of the temple of our daily lives, before they destroy our society. Initally, the time travelers in my books, like most people, don’t have a clue about this reality. But over time they begin to understand.
